9am - Looking at the “PAST 100 YEARS” a breakfast at Manor At Market Square with our community’s centenarians/ a presentation sponsored by the Manor [contact the Manor for reservations]
9am-noon - WEEU 830AM Feedback will be live at the Pagoda. Bring your stories to be included in our “Pagoda Memories - Affectionate looks at Reading's iconic landmark" a centennial commemorative book being created with individual perspectives and memories of the Pagoda. Also bring your birthday cards and pennies to the Pagoda

FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA!! At approximately 9:30pm all eyes should turn to the mountain for a spectacular firework display by International Fireworks, this is sure to be a memory of a lifetime! [weather permitting] Watch for the firework signal countdown atop Mt. Penn. [sponsored by IBEW 743]

8am-1pm - WEEU LIVE Broadcast [8am-10am: Jack’s Backyard; 10am-11am: Voices; 11am-1pm: LIVE]

11am-1pm - Create a bookmark using the Japanese art of flower pressing, Oshibana with artist Gene Burkhart [$5 donation]
1pm-3pm - Make a Pagoda Kite with “Kiteman” Carl Leiby [sponsored by Manor At Market Square]
The Cafe and Gift Shop will be opened
Custom-made commemorative Postcards of your family at the Pagoda [cost $5]
Tours of Pagoda - Visit our NEW Pagoda Museum on the 5th floor
Music [including “Open Piano” from 1pm-3pm – everyone is welcome to come and play …or just to listen]
Activities at City Park:
Noon-12:30pm - “The Emperor’s Nightingale” presented by Reading Community Players
1pm-3pm - FREE Afternoon Concert in the Park with the Ringgold Band – hear a special song written for the Pagoda Celebration – bring a picnic lunch and your chairs
[There will be a Shuttle bus provided by the Manor At Market Square going between the Park and the Pagoda.]
SUNDAY [08/10/08]
11am-4pm - at the GoggleWorks Second Sunday event- everyone can help create a Pagoda Centennial Mural
Also along Skyline Drive at Drenkel Field: Saturday and Sunday
1pm–4pm - Dutchmen Model Airplane Flying - the art of model airplane flying [just up the road from the Pagoda]
